Joy Cheng, BScH (Hons) 25’
Joy is an undergraduate research trainee with the In Situ lab at Queen's University. Joy has worked on several projects focusing on the access to physical activity and sports among equity-deserving groups in Canada, and is currently working on examining the link between social capital and active outdoor play.
Rose Oh, BScH (Hons) 25’
Rose (Yeonjae) Oh is a fourth-year Health Sciences student at Queen's University, currently supervised by Dr. Lee in the HSCI 598 research course. Her research focuses on the current status, challenges, and opportunities of active outdoor play in Asian countries. Outside of research and academics, Rose is often found refining her Mendelssohn concerto in the basement practice rooms of the music building or dancing hip hop in the studios of the Athletics and Recreation Centre.
Kevin Nguyen, BScH (Hons) 25’
Kevin is in his fourth year of Health Sciences at Queen’s University. He is currently completing the HSCI 592/594 Research Courses under the supervision of Dr. Lee in the In Situ Lab. His research is focused on investigating the holistic impacts of active transportation and electric vehicles on population health. A focus is placed on understanding the implications of these two models of transportation on urban infrastructure development and movement behaviours. Kevin is an avid soccer player, and he hopes to pursue an education in medicine after completing his undergraduate degree.
Mia Carbone, B.Sc. (Hons) 25’
Mia is currently in her fourth year as a biology student with a GIS certificate at Queen’s University. She is actively engaged in her academic journey by volunteering as an Undergraduate Trainee in the In Situ Lab under the mentorship of Dr. Lee. Her primary focus involves researching the multifaceted intersections of health-related issues through the analysis of quantitative data. With a passion for understanding the complex relationships between environmental factors and human well-being, Mia envisions building on this foundation by pursuing a Master's degree in Public Health upon graduation. She aims to further contribute to the field and address public health challenges through her research studies.
